Luke M. Vaillancourt, a 16th generation Suttonian, graduated from Worcester Academy (Worcester, MA) in 2001 to attend Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, NY) where he earned both a Bachelor of Science in New Media Publishing and a Masters of Science with concentrations in Contemporary Publishing Trends and Communication & Media Technology.
Being involved with his school and industry Luke was able to be part of several industry round table discussions which included officers and experts from companies like Xerox Corporation , Eastman Kodak Company , Vertis Communications , and Adobe Systems Incorporated. His involvement and research in the publishing industry led to the publishing of his first book Marketing4Digital: A Guide to Print Markets (Advertising) that was co-authored with Frank J. Romano. Before graduating in 2006, Luke's Masters thesis, Interactivity in Advertising: The Key to Furthering Advertising Effectiveness was published through RIT and also sold thru LuLu. Facing the decision of pursuing a Ph.D. or accepting one of several job offers, including an offer to be Digital Asset Coordinator for Victoria's Secret in New York, Luke decided to return to Massachusetts to join Palley Advertising's Creative Department as a Cross-Media Designer to design and develop web sites, manage Search Engine Optimization, and create marketing strategies for a handful of clients in the New England region. During this time Luke stayed involved in his community and industry by joining Boston's AdClub and being invited to join Worcester Academy's Board of Visitors, Worcester Art Museum's Members Council, and founding WorcesterScene.com. In 2007, Luke left Palley Advertising to join the family business, Vaillancourt Folk Art, as Director for Digital Marketing where today he continues to grow the company's web presence, eCommerce abilities, new business, and relations with close to 500 retailers-including Roger's Garden (Corona del Mar, California), Peek In The Attic (Dallas, Texas), Colonial Williamsburg (Williamsburg, Virginia), Frontgate, Macy's, Bergdorf's, and Neiman Marcus. Luke maintains a close relationship with Worcester Academy, Rochester Institute of Technology, and many industry experts around the globe. |
